Myanmar’s military coup took place on 1 February 2021.
Pencilo was reportedly among the first individuals to leave Myanmar following the military coup and one of the earliest to arrive in the United States.

During the initial days after 1 February, she did not participate in public demonstrations against the military junta. Instead, she continued operating her online jewelry reselling business. Evidence presented shows her activities on 3, 4, and 5 February 2021.

Several days later, in her own words and without presenting supporting evidence, she claimed that military forces had surrounded her, prompting her departure from the country on a flight to Thailand. From Thailand, she later entered the United States under refugee status.

Adding to the controversy, her former teacher, Dr. Aung, later posted a public statement alleging that she had fabricated elements of her account.

The accompanying image is presented as documentation related to the timeline of these events.
