Pencilo Eaint Pou Ou has reportedly stopped her fundraising tour in the United States following a wave of accusations concerning financial transparency.
Critics have alleged corruption involving both her and her sister, claiming that they sold National Unity Government (NUG) bonds and collected cash donations during events. Questions have since been raised regarding the transparency of how those funds were managed and where the proceeds were allocated.
Public concern has grown among members of the Myanmar community regarding a project she promoted known as “Bird BBQ” (ဌက်ကင်), which was publicly funded.
Approximately $2 million was reportedly raised through urgent fundraising efforts, with supporters stating that the funds were intended to acquire equipment to counter Myanmar military aircraft.
However, critics allege that the equipment was never purchased and that no detailed financial explanation has been provided regarding how the funds were used. The lack of transparency has led to increasing questions and frustration among donors.
As of now, no official financial report or public clarification has been released addressing the allegations.
